Fluffy Japanese Milk Bun Recipe

This recipe guides you through making light and fluffy Japanese milk buns, perfect as dinner rolls or a sweet treat. It involves mixing, kneading, two proofing stages, and baking to achieve soft, buttery buns.
First mix yeast in warm milk, make sure it dissolves well. Then add sugar in flour and mix it. Now add the milk mixture into the flour and start mixing. Now add salt and mix it well, making a dough, which will take around 3 minutes. Add room temperature butter to the dough and start mixing again to make a nice buttery dough; this will take around 5-7 minutes. Now cover the dough for around 2 hours or until it has doubled in size. Next, make medium-sized balls and leave them again for 30-40 minutes to double in size. Now, apply a single layer of egg mixture on each bun, or if you want to skip this step, it's totally fine; alternatively, just sprinkle some corn starch on each bun. Finally, bake it on 350F for 18-20 minutes. ENJOY ..
